Monterey Phaeton (hardtop coupe, [63A]), right? Edit: No, wrong. /vehicle_233129-Ford-Transit.html shows clearly it's a Montclair, [63B]. -- Last edit: 2009-06-12 00:19:53 |

I agree that this is a 1957 Mercury Montclair , but it is not the Phaeton Hardtop Coupe .It is a 1957 Mercury Montclair Convertible as shown by the very unusual top configuration , that had a wraparound panoramic plexiglas rear window and large light colored linings. .The Montclair hardtop phaetons had a characteristic Mercury medallion in front of the rear window that allows for differential spotting since this was absent on the convertibles.Production run of the Montclair Convertible was 4248 units |

Thanks Pilou. Yes, the roof line was somewhat strange. And now I see the inside framework as well. [76B]. According to my info the convertible was called Phaeton as well. Is that correct? -- Last edit: 2009-06-12 17:04:52 |
