I've been looking through my reference books..and there is very little difference between the 1931 LaSalle model 345 and the equivalent 1931 Cadillac V16 model 452.! (nothing i can spot the difference from ..with the above pics.!) -- Last edit: 2006-02-21 23:15:22 |

LaSalle was marketed by Cadillac (similar to the Lincoln/Mercury dealers in the US) but was a separate brand midway in price between buick/oldsmobile and cadillac. I think we should keep it separate. I'd go with LaSalle then ...I think the caddy had pics with chrome side air intakes on the engine cover ..this is just painted black.! |

There is a resemblance between the 1931 Cadillac and LaSalle models of this particular body style. However, this is most definitely a 1931 Cadillac "Series 370" V-12 with a Fleetwood sedan or limousine body. The body sill decoration [the metal frame covering below the doors] is a dead giveaway: single chrome spear on either side of the round step light. As to the body style it could be either a 5-pass. or 7-pass. sedan, or a 5-pass or 7-pass. limousine with separate chauffeur compartment. Again owing to limitations in decribing these movie cars, this one would need to be called a <<1931 Cadillac "Series 370" by Fleetwood>>.
