It's an MB fitted with a CJ2 windscreen, or an early Japanese production Mitsubishi Jeep. |

I agree to firebird86. From late 40's, many military vehicle were sold off to occupied japan. Jeep were used mainly police, goverment and Newspaper reporter. (Also GMC 'DUCK' were converted to bus ) -- Last edit: 2006-02-20 12:17:53 |

It is a Willys MB 'Jeep' (1941) with a CJ-3A windscreen and extra indicators. The Willys MB could always be a Ford GPW. They are almost indistingishable. As Willys is the constructor and Ford only built it in licence (GPW = General Purpose, Willys), I will name it Willys MB. At that time 'Jeep' was only a nickname, therefore in inverted kommas. The Mitsubishi Jeeps were based on the CJ-3B with a higher hood and therefore shorter windscreen. |
