Whose F bird was this? I don't remember Jimmy driving this one. |

Ep. 5.20 is “A Different Drummer.” I think this is actually from Ep. 5.19, “Never Send a Boy King to Do a Man’s Job.” It is a two-hour episode that is aired in two parts in syndication. I think the car is driven by Rockford's ex-girlfriend, Odette Lependieu, played by Trisha Noble. |

while technically a 79 by the look of the bumper this car is actually a 78 custom "kammback wagon" which was going to be produced as a limited production station wagon. the reason i say its not a 79 is because they swapped the front end of a 79 onto the 78 test car to "update" its styling on the car show circuit but the year of the car is actually 1978. a few better pics of it from the episode can be seen below. -- Last edit: 2010-11-15 22:54:13 |

Yes, I also found that too. The car blog Jalopnik had an article about the 1985 Trans Am Kammback (http://jalopnik.com/5491324/the-pontiac-trans-am-kammback/), and someone posted a picture of James Garner with Eric Dahlquist and the 1979 Trans Am Kammback. I've started watching Season 5 and making images/screencaps, but haven't started uploading them yet. I will probably wait for the connection problem to get resolved. I also noticed noticed that the main image came from the same webpage the images you posted came from (http://www.wqik.net/kammback/index.htm). It looks like someone took pictures of the television screen. You can find plenty of pictures and information about Trans Am Kammback online. In addition, I was wondering how it should be labeled. I think the way it is now is fine, but I've also seen it referred to as a "sport wagon." As I mention in my previous post, this is actually from Ep. 5.19. When I get to this episode, I'll upload the images/screencaps here so you can replace the old on with a new one from the DVD. -- Last edit: 2010-11-21 19:36:09 |

It seems to me that I read that this episode was possibly a pilot for a show with the young guy in the episode as a boy genius detective. I don't know if I ever saw the entire episode, but is it possible this was featured in the hopes that if the pilot was picked up, this would be the "star car". |
