2nd generation Isuzu Trooper. Let it be known, that all first generation Isuzu Troopers are NOT Troopers, they are Trooper IIs. The Troopers imported into the U.S. were Trooper IIs, although the later 1st gen Troopers didn't wear "Trooper II" badging, the manual, documents and brochures still listed it as the Trooper II. The Trooper dropped the Trooper II title completely for the 2nd generation Trooper and the Trooper line was dropped for good in 2002. |

I don't know whether or not it is a Trooper or Trooper II, I'd say regular Trooper because this one doesn't seem as boxy as the Trooper II. |

Yes, the Trooper II was the first version of the Trooper. Whe the Trooper was released, at first it wasn't availible to America. It was just regular Isuzu Trooper to the countrys it was released to (In some countries it is known as the Isuzu Bighorn and in Australia, the Holden Jackaroo). And when it was brought to America it was named Trooper II, because it was the second wave of Troopers made. So in a way, the Trooper II was first. |

NO! The Trooper II's were Not the Only First gens Shipped to the US!! Many First gens (86-91) Were not II's The resign Isuzu Put the II There was to avoid a tax imposed by the US. They were shipped over with NO rear Seats, then they were installed at the dealership. They were shipped here saying they were a Truck not an SUV. The US Had a TAX for Foren SUV's Shipped here. In 92 they came out with waht are known as the Second Generation, Do to the fact they got a little less Boxy and they can with the 3.2 SOHC V6.
