This scene was the reenactment of the murder of the head of the Mr. Asia Syndicate, Christopher "Martin" Johnstone who was shot by associate and syndicate member, Andrew Maher on orders of Terry Clark at a rest stop, north of Lancaster in Lancashire on the night of the 13th October 1979. According to the Lancashire Constabulary investigation into the murder, in 1979, Johnstone had met with Clark in London where Clark gave Johnstone $50,000 to find a new source of heroin, on the 1st August, Johnstone flew to Thailand, where he travelled to Pattaya, 147km south of Bangkok and met with Thai drug dealers to complete a drug deal, but was tricked by the Thai dealers who took $35,000 for one bag of heroin that Johnstone mixed with caster sugar. When Clark found out, Clark decided to kill Johnstone and enlisted his associates to do the murder and dispose the body, these included Maher who shot Johnstone, Frederick Russell who suppled the firearm and Keith Kirby who supplied the ropes and weights to weigh the body down. On the 9th October, Johnstone arrived back in Britain from Thailand, four days later, Johnstone and Maher drove off in Maher's car on a ruse of doing a drug deal in Scotland with Clark's remaining $15,000. As the vehicle passes Carnforth, north of Lancaster, the vehicle pulls into a layby off the A6, where Maher and Johnstone got out of the vehicle and shot and killed Johnstone. After killing Johnstone, Maher took Johnstone's body to Maher's garage at Robin Hey in Leyland where he and associate, James Smith had dismembered the body and then took the body to the Eccleston Delph near Chorley where they dumped the body. -- Last edit: 2022-02-02 05:08:25 |
