There are few 'E' registration plates in circulation. In 1967, the authorities decided that the registration month should be changed from January to August. Therefore, 'E' plates were only issued between January and July 1967.

Since the name 'Dolomite' wasn't officially applied until 1971 (I just found out), we have to call it a Triumph 1300.

I think you're right, stronghold, it's a 2000 saloon, 'cause of the front. "Bien vu"...

It's definately a 2000, and with overdrive looking at the badge on the boot lid. There is an extra bit under the Triumph name, which either said 'overdrive' or 'injection' and there's nothing about this that screams injection to me.
Another way to tell that its a 2000 is the little badge in the centre of the bumper which either read '2000' or '2500' on the injection models. Anyway, it's too wide to be a 1300. Don't want to rub anyone up the wrong way, but I should know this because I have had 8 Triumph 2000's, 2500's and a PI, Mk1's and 2's. I still have 2. My Dad had 3, and my Grandad had 2. Four friends also have about 9 or 10 between them and they would hurt me if I couldn't tell the difference!
