in the USA, possibly Rover? In another episode, Booth calls this car a 'Dinky toy' -- Last edit: 2009-03-11 06:29:42 |

Oh, I'm think of another episode (the one where Bones gets kidnapped, Booth is in hospital), where Hodjens (T.J. Thyne) and Booth go to rescue her, Hodjens owns this car. |

About a 1990 model |

Called an Austin in the show. Apparently, the guy asked for an Aston, but instead got an Austin. -- Last edit: 2009-05-26 07:28:31 |

This is true. This pic is from fourth season's 2-hour season premiere "Yanks In the U.K." It was filmed on location in England. I do remember Booth being mad that he got an "Austin" instead of an "Aston." So, should this car be called a 1990 Austin Mini? |
◊ 2009-10-14 05:29 |
No if there was no Austin Mini in 1990 it should not be called an Austin. Just because the show calls it an Austin doesn't make it so. They just hoped none of us would notice. |

Perhaps there wasn't an Autin in 1990. But, Booth didn't say he wanted a 1990 Austin. Just an Austin. It was supposedly the car rental place that stuck him with the 1990 car...whatever it may be. I also find it hard to believe that in today's TV they would just "pop" out info without knowing first, when it's too easily checked on. But, I suppose that someone in England wouldn't have known their own cars. -- Last edit: 2009-11-01 06:18:46 |

happens all the time for instance in the movie "Super Troopers" one of the characters calls a Caprice a Crown Victoria. and maybe a 40 year old Austin is hard to come by -- Last edit: 2009-11-01 06:28:20 |

That is sad!!! I cannot believe that the director wouldn't have made them re-film that scene...since there is definite differences between a Chevrolet and a Ford! I know mistakes happen, it's just that usually I would think that they would know their info before putting it into the script. Or if it's improv, even if the actor doesn't know, I'd think they'd find someone who did before putting it into dialogue. But, I know some mistakes slip by. |

Another mistake that was mentioned at least twice, if not more, (and one I could never understand why they would state it) was with a Charger in the USA 90's crime-drama "Silk Stalkings." In that show the actor Rob Estes drove a "junker" 1973 or 74 Dodge Charger as his own car. But, they referred to it as a 66 Dodge Charger Hemi. There are definite differences between a 74 and a 66 Charger! I guess both here in "Bones" and back with "Silk Stalkings" no one knew the year/model (don't know why they wouldn't find out??) and so they just guessed. -- Last edit: 2009-11-01 07:42:49 |
