Year is from 1957. Head light rim is flat (not slanted). It's very early model. |

As far as I am aware 'F-type' was used for both the 1957-59 Victor (with the 'bomb' over-riders and the crease on the rear doors) and for the 1959-61 Victor without these features. Although I only worked for Vauxhall at the time of the 'FB' onwards, 'FA' was a term never that I never heard used by Vauxhall for either of the early models. |

In fact,on a Vauxhall history booklet that own it's listed as F-Victor always that coque, undepending if series I or II,and into text don't came mentioned none FA;for me don't exist that late codification,'cause the booklet that I own was printed just by GM-Vauxhall,so was an attendible source coming right by the Make |

A good set of thumbnails for the earliest [F] Victor. From the comments for 1957 Vauxhall Victor in the movie 'March to Aldermaston', pictures of this car show the same chrome trim (Vauxhall badge on the left). This confirms that the later series 1 cars from 1958 had the chrome trim over the numberplate. |

Hi The Vauxhall Victor F Type shown is an early one, between 1957 - 1959 It is the "Super" model, (abit more flashy than the Standard base model) with the chromed window surrounds, back door creases, full length chrome strips along back lower wings, and exhaust pipe exiting through the rear bumper corner. Cheers! |

Sad to have missed out on this. I owned one of these things for about 18 months in the late sixties. It was a Victor Super, registration 3908 E, exactly the model shown, but dark blue, and I paid £110 for it with 26,000 miles only on the clock, although it was about 10 years old. I knew its only previous owner and knew that the miles were right. I used it for a forty mile daily commute, and although the mechanics were fine, the rust killed it and I scrapped it off, in favour of the blue VW shown in my profile. |
