Didn't they sell the XJR too? Or it could be a Super V8 or Vanden Plas. All had V8s, true but IMO it's wrong to list as XJ8 when it may be one of the other versions which we cannot tell from this angle. |

And the same goes for quite a few of the others you have commented on. |

OK well, the XJR and Super V8 had mesh grilles, so that's one thing that sets them apart. (front not visible here, I know) -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 19:15:41 |

Also no grill visible here: /vehicle.php?id=67260 /vehicle.php?id=116292 /vehicle.php?id=19009 /vehicle.php?id=446201 /vehicle.php?id=213042 /vehicle.php?id=313156 /vehicle.php?id=213081 /vehicle.php?id=69475 Also doesn't rule out Vanden Plas: Link to "www.chrysler-insight.com" |

So should I change them back to XJ instead of XJ8 by default (because of the V8 engine)? -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 19:52:44 |

By default, I'd say so. There is some research to be done on the differences between the US trims which would allow them to be differentiated as you and dsl have done with the XJ40 series. -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 19:56:59 |

Often you just can't tell sure because either the contributor hasn't given enough views or it's not visible enough (which makes you think is it that worthing listing?) Vanden Plas I think doesn't any different on the X350 unless you get to read the badge, no fluted grilles or chrome trim lines. -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 20:01:03 |

All can be XJ8, XJ8L or Vanden Plas IMO. Don't think the one in Las Vegas is an XJR as it seems to have fairly lower spec alloys. It would be really interesting to know what is specific to the Vanden Plas and not the XJ8 as we can just about distinguish the rest of the versions based on various things. |

I tried looking for US brochures but couldn't find any. -- Last edit: 2012-02-09 20:21:50 |
