1966 Valiant VC. The Pacer came later in the VF series I think. |

And it's actually the very rare Valiant V8. The V8 was introduced for the AP6 model previous to the VC and for these two models the V8 was an exclusive model, available only as an automatic, before becoming avalaible as a general option in the VE series. Also there were two Valiant V8s entered for the 1966 Bathurst race. They placed 9th and 10th outright, which doesn't seem all that great until you realise that the first 8 places were filled by the all conquering Mini Cooper S. |

This is 1966 event - Link to "www.youtube.com" after Mini #C25 George Forrest/Frank Hann crash with Valiant #D6 (Alton Boddenberg/Digby Cookeshown, finished 11th). The other Valiant - also VC Valiant V8 Automatic (#D5, Jack Nougher/David O'Keefe) finished 10th. The top 9 places were all Morris Mini Cooper S - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_Gallaher_500 |
