It's funny, when I looked that up, I came to a Road & Track article about one that was for sale in Miami two years ago. Looks like the same exact car. Link to "www.roadandtrack.com" |

That one has the US-spec bumpers and lights, rear headrests, no headlight wipers, and AMG penta wheels. Though a very nice car, I doubt they're the same. Miami was a hotbed for twins of this car in the '80s, so it's possible it's still out there. To be honest, I always thought it looked a lot closer to the one used on The Twilight Zone, which recently sold on Bring A Trailer. That being said, I also doubt they're the same car since The Twilight Zone was shot in California, and Miami Vice was shot in Miami. I don't think there was any shortage of these cars in the '80s such that the producers of either show would have had to source a car across the country and ship it over just for filming. /vehicle_1310306-Mercedes-Benz-500-SEC-C126-1983.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Bo8IoM12xY -- Last edit: 2024-02-28 11:57:26 |
