I think it's an ex-London Transport Leyland RTL. I quote: 'Many RTLs were sold abroad: Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) took 728 between 1958 and 1968!' (Ian's Bus Stop) |

Enlargement of the image will show that the bus is in fact an A.E.C. RT (Regent III), not a Leyland-engined RTL. The vertical strip down the middle of the radiator is visible (if only just), as well as the A.E.C. inverted-triangle radiator badge above the strip. This has been confirmed by two separate bus historians in the UK. The bus was one of 266 ex-London Transport RTs acquired by the Ceylon Transport Board commencing in 1958. Between 1958 and 1968 the RTs were joined in Ceylon by 728 RTLs (as correctly stated by 'chris40') and 278 RTWs, the latter type also powered by Leyland. Sources: 1.
