It's a superb Austin 12 (1939+) coachbuilt Woody. I'm not sure who was the coachbuilder, but I've seen the like in the UK. |

Further to the above ... it seems to be a 16, not a 12, and was actually catalogued by the factory. I'm not surprised, because it would have been rather heavy for a 12 h.p. to drag around. I doubt if Austin actually built the body. Link to "images.google.co.uk" |

Austin Sixteen Countryman [BW1] introduced Sept 48, built by Papworth Industries in Cambridgeshire in 2 batches of 250 each under contract from Austin. The first use by Austin of Countryman name for an estate. |
