taxiguy wrote OOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhh! Beautiful Manhattan skyline in the background.
Must have been filmed in late 1952 becuase the antenna on the Empire State Building was added in exactly that year.

Superba wrote That looks like a 52 DeSoto cab on the west side of Manhattan near the lincoln tunnel and bus depot.

Mr. TDM 4512 wrote This is really a great scene and it is on Manhattan's west side just outside the Lincoln Tunnel where hundreds of suburban buses from New Jersey lay over between rush hours each day.

The two most prominent coaches (right side of frame) are 1947 GM Model TDH 4008's operating for Public Service Coordinated Transport of New Jersey and are numbered in their 'A' series.

The 4008's were the last 40 passenger transit buses ever built by GM.

The cab is DeSoto but not a SkyView.

Of note on both the cab and the police car in the foreground are the over sized 'pre-convention' New York license plates with the black '52' metal tabs.

Gamer wrote No one tried their hand at this?
