What's the actual difference between this and the New Yorker? |

How can you tell it's not a New Yorker? |

I was wondering the same, that's why i want to know their differences |

as far as i know, 92-94 were tagged a New Yorker & 95,96 were tagged as New Yorker LHS. 92-94 has old pentagon logo on front grill & 95 & up has the new round logo (round on grill). (this car looks like having the round logo on grill, so it should be an 95+. |

The LHS and the New Yorker were separate cars produced concurrently. As far as I know, the only exterior difference was that the New Yorker had chrome trim around the headlights and the LHS had body-colored trim. Either way, the round grille badge indicates 1995+. EDIT: And I think the LHS may have had an extra badge on the rear fender by the taillights. -- Last edit: 2009-01-11 04:32:21 |

Yes, I wasn't asking you; we posted the same question at the same time. |

Well anyway it's an LHS, but I thought the first year for the round badge was 1996, not 1995? |

i think they had different bulb layouts in the headlight housings as well, but the LHS did have badging on the quartel panels that said LHS |

Like the others said... this has a decent amount of chrome so it would be a New Yorker. |

Another exterior cue that it's a New Yorker is black mirrors vs. body color on an LHS. The LHS had badges on the rear fenders and "CHRYSLER" centered at the bottom of the trunk lid between the taillight; the New Yorker had no side badges and "CHRYSLER" and "NEW YORKER" on the trunklid, spaced out close to the taillights. None of this applies for model year 1997, when the New Yorker name was dropped and both versions were sold as LHS. I think the one in the movie might be a '97 LHS, but with trim that would have made it a New Yorker in previous years. |

i have a lhs and it has the letters right at the end of the back fenders. that looks like it has it to. also if the strip around the headlights is painted the same as the car its an lhs, if its chrome its a newyorker. |
