E-mail received from Brian:
Quote The 1955 Mercury D-528 (the 528th design concept to come out of the FoMoCo Engineering Department, it was not a "show car" but an engineering test bed) which is identified on your website as having had a minor role in an "Outer Limits" episode (TV series) had much greater exposure as the "Beldone" in the 1964 Jerry Lewis movie "The Patsy". The car had been modified by George Barris for remote control operation of the doors, hood, and trunk; he also changed the nameplate from "D-528" to "Beldone" at the request of Paramont Pictures. However, the car looked essentially the same, despite a new paint job. The car stayed with Paramont for quite a while, showing up in various TV shows and movies, until it returned to George Barris and eventually passed into private hands.

From http://www.theglobeandmail.com/auto/article896793.ece

The D 528 had a rather desultory career compared to its stable mate, the Futura, but ended up doing the odd commercial and cameo. Its biggest coup was with Jerry Lewis in the movie The Patsy in a scene which is unfortunately often cut from recent video tapes.

And this is, sadly, what I get. So...sorry, there aren't pcitures of this gorgeous

As long as there's still no available movie release where this Mercury isn't cut, I've added the only official still picture of it found here https://carstyling.ru/en/car/1955_mercury_d528/
Also marked it as "Seen only in deleted scenes".

Glad to see the long-open case of the Missing Mercury has been closed! :D
