In 1974 the incomplete car was acquired from outside the deHavilland factory including a 4-cyl SOHC Coventry-Climax 1098 cc engine (not installed), the car having passed through various hands during the 60-70’s, was worthy of restoration, which was entrusted to Lynx Engineering. During an 18month period, various problems were encountered in rebuilding/restoring the car and replacing missing panels. The engine was attended too by Climax Engine Services, which finally produced 95hp from a stage II (road-race) spec. Now one aspect that does not fit, is that the rear of the car appears very similar to the prototype Lola GT (with Ford Cortina lights). Also shares some similarities to the Lister Jaguar GT (Costin).
