The reg. number might be fake, as it's much older than the Landy. In 1968 I drove a rental Anglia in IRL with the reg. number LIE 358. |

Though made in 1999, it might be set in the 80's since that's when Shergar's kidnapping occurred. Dunno if this makes a difference with the license plate though. |

Link to "en.wikipedia.org" I think this explains how Irish pre-1987 registrations (and pre-1963/4 UK registrations) worked. I've no information about when Co. Clare started to use three-letter combinations, but it was a long time before 1972 when the Series III Land-Rover was introduced. |
