1934 Bugatti Type 57 Torpedo Roadster chassis 57300 - Paris-Nice #68 Descollas but the rest of it is in foreign so I'll leave the bones for someone else to pick over. But the pics are nice. |

.... "The Bugatti Type 57 was introduced in 1933. In 1934, Bugatti showed a sportier version called the “Grand Raid” at the Paris Motor Show. This had a driving seat moved further back for better sportiness. Only about ten were made including chassis 57300. It was delivered on December 3 1934 to Bugatti dealer and racing driver Gaston Descollas in Marseille, who had a very light four-seat Torpedo body made of aluminum built by coachbuilder Dubos in Marseille. The car was registered on January 3, 1935, with the license plate 5822 CA 7. Claire Descollas, Gaston’s wife, drove the Bugatti in the women’s rally Paris–St-Raphaël féminin. Later, Gaston won the famous Paris–Nice rally in April 1935 with this car." |
