I assume this is Ed Gein's car? Matches the details; Gein drove a maroon 1949 Ford. |

Indeed it is, though that he is seen driving this one only once, with two kids he was babysitting. The rest of the time in the series he is driving this pickup: /vehicle_2031550-Chevrolet-Light-Delivery-KC-1940.html -- Last edit: 2025-10-12 16:16:46 |

In reality, Ed Gein used the Ford to transport the bodies that he exhumed from the Plainfield Cemetery and after his detainment, the car was sold to a travelling funfair owner from Rockford, Illinois named Bunny Gibbons for $760 (about $8,000 in today's value). After purchasing the car, Gibbons had turned the vehicle into an attraction. In July 1958, Gibbons put the vehicle on display in Seymour Wisconsin, 70 miles north of Plainfield, bringing in a crowd of 2,000 people in two days and attracting controversy with members of the Mental Health America of Wisconsin, trying to stop Gibbons from displaying the vehicle. |

The car has since been lost to history, it seems. It's either slowly rotting in a field or junkyard somewhere or sitting in an unknowing classic car enthusiast's garage... or it was scrapped and is now several different vehicles. |
