Confirmed to be locally assembled by ISC. Its successor, the BMW E28 (520i), was also assembled in Jakarta at ISC. Unlike the BMW E12, it featured the large bumpers of the US model. Later models (BMW 520iS) featured standard bumpers. The model range was expanded downwards: the BMW E30. The third generation of the vehicle, the BMW E36 and BMW E34, were also manufactured in Indonesia. During this time, BMW separated from the assembly company ISC and switched to P. T. Gaya Motor (GM) in 1993. During the Asian crisis in May 1998, the abandoned ISC buildings fell victim to the Indonesian riots. The ruins were later demolished. |

Thanks for clarification, lucivex! Mystery solved!  Nice brochure find too. Haven't digged into Threads yet, since social media platforms like that often bias, and Google's SEO might sometimes unpredictable on finding images from old Instagram/Threads posts. |
