When the Panther was launched here in 1991, local coachbuilders in 1992 started taking chassis cab variants of the model and turn them into their own wagon interpretations. The Miyabi for example, built by the Semarang-based Langgeng Putra, was a popular option back in the day, although not much than the official wagon model by Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (known at that time as Pantja Motor). Many locals here often compared this to the second generation Mitsubishi Pajero, which was trending at the time when this conversion was in production, although there were also other bunch of mixed rear designs of this conversion. The Miyabi also got a longer "brother", the Samurai. Outside Langgeng Putra, other locally-coachbuilt Panther wagons include the Dallas Wagon, Cruiser, Rotassy Jeep, Sivero, Sivira, Champ, just to name a few. After Suzuki Indomobil Motor introduced the Vitara for the Indonesian market in 1992, followed by the Escudo in late 1993, some examples of later coachbuilt Isuzu Panthers have taken some design inspiration from the first generation Suzuki Vitara.
