Very rare Chapron cabriolet. By the hub cabs, I guess a 2+2 Caddy, but I may be wrong. Otherwise it sshould be a 2+2 Dandy or 4Places Croisette? |

Very nice indeed! My first idea was also a Le Caddy. But those had small rear wheel arches. The car shown here still has the original rear fender from the Berline. There's no chrome vertical strip between this fender and the side panel behind the door. Therefore it is one of the early La Croisette convertibles, 1958 (the 1959 model had the vertical chrome bar). 25 of this first series with covered rear wheels have been built. Only problem is that the 'flames' that carry the retroreflectors are missing... Maybe the rear has been modernised? |
