That's what I first thought, but I didn't know they were also sold in the US. Then I thought "my eyes must be fooling me" ![]() |

Oh yeah. My dad had two Quantum sedans in the 1980s. I went to prom and took my driving test in his black 1987 GL-5. We also had a silver 1983 GL sedan. |

So cool, man! How did you like its handling? The Typ 32Bs were a big thing here, where the Quantum name was only used for the wagon version. I thought Typ 32Bs were only sold in North America in Mexico, named as Corsar. Living and learning... |

Looks like they were sold in the USA but not Canada. At first, there were three versions, 3-door, 4-door and wagon. The 3-door didn't really sell, so it only lasted two years. 1.7L 4-cylinder was the first engine, but in 1983 they added a 2.2L 5-cylinder, which was sold in most Quantums. It was the first car I ever drove to 100mph, so I thought it handled well, but I was 17. Our was a top model, so it was pretty posh. My dad went back and forth between large VWs and Mazda 626s as his company car for the most part. |
