I think this is actually a Mag T-Mag XC sold by Mag International, Inc. in the United States. The windows, doorcut, wheels, and rear lights all match. I've been waiting for one of these to come up on IMCDb; the landscaping department at UVA uses them, so I see them all the time. Of course, it could have a different name depending on where this was filmed. According to IMDb, some scenes were filmed in Morocco, and if this scene was one of them, I have no idea what this'd be called. It's the Hafei Ruiyi in China and sold under the Effa brand in South America. http://www.maginternationalinc.com/t_mag__xc_new_ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hafei_Ruiyi -- Last edit: 2008-11-21 08:06:45 |

I'd say this is most likely to be Morocco. |

Hmmm... I did some more digging. It's called the Hafei Loda in South Africa, but I did a search for "Hafei" on websites in the .ma domain and found two articles in a Moroccan newspaper that mention "Hafei," "Ruiyi," and "mini pick-up" in very close proximity (I can't read French, alas). Based on this, I'm prepared to bet that if this is Morocco then the truck is called Hafei Ruiyi. The articles: http://www.aujourdhui.ma/automobile-details407229.html http://www.aujourdhui.ma/automobile-details405545.html Also, according to this, China is the third largest exporter of cars to Morocco and Hafei mini-trucks are apparently pretty popular there: http://www.china4auto.com/news/showe.aspx?id=88797 -- Last edit: 2008-11-22 22:44:16 |

I doubt it is a Ruiyi, since the engine is forward of the cab. However, it could be one of many Chinese copies of the Suzuki Carry (the most notable of which are made by Chang'an) -- Last edit: 2008-11-23 03:56:28 |
