This then brand new 1998 LX model was used by many of the principal characters at one point or another: At the time it had only clocked in 729 miles: |

Not a police certified speedometer. Cant these movies pay attention to small details? |

Well yes, it's an LX model as previously stated. Don't forget that when this movie was made, 1998 Crown Victorias were just hitting the streets so there was really no availability at the time for a 1998 P71 in a film production. To be honest, I'll give the prop crew credit for having the correct police-style wheel covers and for the interior details they put in the car, including an MDT and LAPD-eque interior emergency lighting. |

Good points Ford Guy. Along with the certified speedometer, did the p71s/PIs get tachometers? |

Necro-ing this old thread - Police Interceptors only got tachometers after the cluster change in 2006. |

Pre Production Model? |

As what Ford Guy said before; brand new. Not Pre-Production. -- Last edit: 2021-11-16 04:29:27 |

Without a VIN this could be a base [P73] as those came with these style wheel covers. Or it could be an LX. |
