 Agree. Early one with pointy rear lights - tops became more rounded about 1961 minor facelift (front tidied, bonnet and side vents removed, new rear quarter window in doors). Oily bits also upgraded about this time - 5 speed box, fuel injection (so became 3500 GTI) but this may have been a few months later in 62.
