1974 Ford Pinto driven by the Illinois Nazis.

Believe it or not, the Pinto wagon had to get an "un-airworthyness certificate" from the FAA (Federal Avaiation Administration) to certify that it would not fly off-course when it was dropped from the helicopter. This involved dropping a duplicate for the FAA in a remote area to see how far off from vertical it traveled while falling.

The fuel tanks blowing up only occurred on the 1971-76 Pinto hatchbacks and 2 door sedans

I assume that this was an attempt to put the losers in the losermobile.

I'd say 77, but could be a 75 and 76.. Its definitely not a '78.

Depends which one you're looking at, looks like they used a few of them. The main pic is a 1977-78, the only years with the scoop nose. Most of the thumbnails show a 1974-76 (though it doesn't look like a 1976 grille). The first "Making of" pic looks like it has a small front bumper and a larger rear bumper, but the flattened one has a large front bumper. They must have dropped a couple of them.

Without a doubt, one of the most hilarious lines of the entire movie.

I think they used two pintos, one a 77-78 and the other a 71-76

If you referring about the pintos. I highly doubt that any of the pinto's wagons used in the film are still around, unless I'm proven otherwise
