Two run-out specials based on the Super were released in 1967 as Anglia production ended (Nov 67) available in Venetian Gold or Blue Mink with black interiors, with 250 sold in each colour. Both were all-over finishes without contrasting colour side flashes or roof.

I have a feeling the colour is related to Venice rather than to Venus

Is there another hamster on the loose?

Or a slightly different account "In 1966, two special editions were released based on both the Deluxe and Super models, available in Venetian Gold or Blue Mink metallic paint with black interior trim ... 250 models were sold in blue and 500 in gold."

I don't go for 1966 intro, as all examples found by googling of both colours have F plates (Aug 67+). Most are Super (captions, side trim, wider front badge), but a handful of Deluxes in the mix. Blue Mink numbers seem solid at 250, Venetian Gold 250 or 500 according to which source you're looking at. Some hints that these metallics were experimental releases - not sure why/how, but Blue Mink later became famous for peeling off early 1968 Escorts and Cortinas so something was not quite right.
