Isn't it a Citroen P55, like the flower car?

The hearse as well as the flower car are undoubtly French. I can only suppose that a Citroen U23 (or something similar) can be found beneath these custom bodies. Same goes for the coachbuilder: I could imagine it was Carrosserie Dumont, but I can´t be sure of that. I´ve been chasing "this" certain coachbuilder and his funeral coach bodies for a couple of years now, but I never managed to assure, who it was.

Edit: OK, not U23, but P55 seems correct. If the Flower car is one, the hearse will be of the same model.

It's an U23, not a P55 which would have a much heigher chassis and larger body ;)

Animatronixx is right. The hearse is a Citroën U23 (Type 23 R U, about 1955). I find it page 96 from a very good french book "Histoire des plus beaux corbillards hippomobiles et motorisés", Lavallade I., ed. ETAI 2011 (France).
An interesting fact noted in the book : it was a very similar vehicle which was used in 1962, in Le Havre (FRANCE) for the funeral of President René Coty !
In movies, the Thunderball's model is also used in "Woman Times Seven", by Vittorio de Sica, in 1967 (99 % sure !)

Sir, yes Sir, it's in my book...
And to right, near the Lincoln, it's a lovely rarely Flower car Citroën Type 23, before 1960. Body by Currus.
Have a nice night... and a long life.

We have more of these on the site, seen with different levels of decoration, depending on the funeral rank (and how much was paid for the ceremony).

Unfortunately, the coachbuilder is still an established mystery. Not even lancelot, "Docteur T23", who released an excellent book about French funeral vehicles (read above), was able to find out who built these stunning vehicles. Any additional info is welcome!
