The only version I know is badged the Chevrolet Impala 'SS' (Super Sport) or is a version that is just 'Sport'? Also what is visible here to say its other than an ordinary Impala? (I don't say its wrong, only that I don't know the difference from the rear). |

I guess the name Sport indicates that it's a hardtop version. |

I owned a 1965 Impala 4-door hardtop and a friend had a 2-door (same year). As far as I know neither was badged 'Sport'. Both were US manufactured, not Canadian, by the way. -- Last edit: 2008-08-31 19:31:42 |

The "Sport" badge is nowhere to be found on the vehicle despite what I have said that was from George H. Dammann's 75 years of Chevrolet. There are at least two 4 door style for the Impala series: one is the hardtop being "Sport Sedan" and the pillered being "Sedan". |

Thank you rjluna2 - I have learnt something new It did have a some sort of a checkered flag logo on the side together with the c.i. displacement - so I guess that could indicate Sport. |

The insignia you described on the fender are the indication of V8 engines fitted. Absence of the insignia indicates 6 cylinder version. They are both available on the hardtop and sedan models. |
