Frazer Nash BMW 326 (1936-?)

It's not the BMW. This car is right-hand drive, and movie was taken in U.K.
Frazer Nash was the BMW importer and they sold right-hander BMW as 'Frazer Nash BMW'.
This relationship leads to the post-war Bristol.

Interesting, indeed. Should we list as "Frazer Nash" (with "BMW" in the model name) or "Frazer Nash BMW" then? That would generate again an extra make

Agree with Jun .It is a Frazer Nash BMW 326 of 1936-1937 .Frazer Nash started importing the German BMW's for the British market in 1934 and these were of course right hand driven cars. Most were 326's and 328's , the latter's engine serving as the base of the post-war Bristol power-unit.So it should be filed under the Frazer Nash make and not BMW.

I am also the same view as pilou says :)

I disagree. To me it's just a BMW, converted to RHD by Frazer-Nash. IMHO, changing a car from LHD to RHD does not change the "make" of the car; at most, you could call it a "custom" BMW by Frazer-Nash (aBMW imported to Australia and converted to RHD there is still just a BMW, right? But I dig the "custom" radiator badge!

We need to remember (or do we?) that the Nazis were rising to power in Germany, in that period, and that Britain declared war on Germany in September 1939. Selling German products in pre-WW2 and early post-WW2 Britain was considered very "un-British". On the other hand the "Frazer-Nash" and, later, the "Bristol" names always had a recognizable "British" flair.

Frazer Nach could sale the car under their name after that conversion, and make like if the car was made by them.

Frazer Nash BMW gets my vote also. The way the cars were produced I believed was the cars were built under licence by Frazer Nash from BMW parts supplied from Germany making them RHD cars not just the conversion of completed LHD German cars. This is confirmed by 'Oldtimer Gallery'

"All British BMW were assembled from German parts, but redesigned for right hand drive. Pictured Frazer-Nash-BMW 315 of Robin Thevathasan has all German units, but long ago Robin also owned one more Frazer-Nash-BMW 315 with very close serial numbers, and that car had Lucas electrics and 3 SU carburettors (it may have even had a 319 engine fitted)."

BMW I believe also approved of the way the cars were built and marketed as 'Frazer Nash BMW' otherwise the supply of parts from Germany would not have been possible.

I am the Technical Advisor to the BMW HISTORIC MOTOR CLUB (UK) limited.
Frazer Nash Cars signed a Licence in 1934 to import BMW cars that were built and badged Frazer Nash- BMW in Germany. They came to Frazer Nash in London Road, Isleworth,Middlesex. The cars came in as right hand drive, imperial instruments, (m.p.h. gallons, etc.) and the blue and white roundel had the words FRAZER NASH BMW on a black background around the outside. If a propective buyer wished for SU carburettors instead of Solex they would change them, as they would the rear shock absorbers, lights etc. They would customize them as requested.
707 cars came into the UK before the war via Frazer Nash. We were the biggest market for BMWs outside Germany.
The reason for this agreement was that after the chain drive Frazer Nash team of 3 were beaten in the 1934 Alpine Trials by the BMW 315 sports. Frazer Nash realised they could sell BMWs in the UK, they had the right clientele. Anti-German feelings were running high and would only be able to sell them if the cars were badged with their respected name. Look at www.bmwhistoricmotorclub.co.uk please.
