It seems to me as thought Ford is using identical fronts for all of their new UK vehicles. I swear you could swap this front out with the Mondeo, and also with that other one that I don't rememeber the name of (it's a smaller hatchback-type car) |

Rumor has it the Kuga (or the redesign of this Kuga) will eventually replace the Ford Escape in the US. But I guess we will have to wait and see. |

The Escape is quite in need of a redesign indeed... the basic design is getting to be almost 8 years old now. But I still wouldn't want to see it replaced by this hideous thing |

In fact, Ford will bring for sure the Kuga to the States, but I don't know if as a new model or as a replacement |

They need to replace Exploder and Navigator with this. |

It's not big enough to replace those |

And I think the Ford Kuga is only for the European market, not for the American. |

It´s a 2.0 TDCi (136 hp). |

@ m.pfaffeneder quote from wikipedia: "On July 24, 2008, WDIV-TV had announced that Ford is re-considering bringing the Kuga to North America after all. On October 22, 2009, news leaked that Ford will build the Kuga at its Louisville plant, possibly as the 2012 Ford Escape.[3] On June 23, 2010, it was announced that Ford will end production on the second generation Escape in 2011 in anticipation to the Kuga's North American launch as the next-generation Escape.[4] The Ford Kuga is now also available in Argentina since 2010. A facelift will be released in late 2010.[5] That redesigned Kuga will form the basis for the 2013 Ford Escape sold in the U.S." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Kuga @ taxiguy: Why do you write "...as thought Ford is using identical fronts for all of their new UK vehicles...". The Kuga is an "All over Europe" vehicle built in Germany. Please don't get me wrong, but please don't equalize Europe with UK. -- Last edit: 2011-08-19 21:51:44 |

@blue thunder: Thanks, but I know it already. The production of the Kuga will end at the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. They´ve got a new strategy called "One Ford". So they will bring a new Kuga on the market, which will also replace the old Escape in the US. A preview of the new Kuga design is this prototype of January 2011: /vehicle_377994-Ford-Vertrek-Concept-2011.html It´s a bit sad, that the production of the Kuga ends so early, cause it´s such a great car. But the new one is great, too. -- Last edit: 2011-08-19 21:52:49 |

same with the Focus i guess. |
◊ 2011-08-19 21:55 |
Indeed. The new Focus which you can buy in Europe is exactly the same car which you can buy in the US. |
◊ 2011-08-19 21:57 |
And the Fiesta. Happily Europe might get the next Mustang as part of this cultural exchange. |
◊ 2011-08-19 21:59 |
A long, long time ago every division of Ford had its own lineup... |
◊ 2011-08-19 22:04 |
Indeed. British Ford used to be separate from French Ford and German Ford and they often built entirely different cars. -- Last edit: 2011-08-19 22:04:49 |

I think, that Mustang sooner or later will be europeized. |
◊ 2011-08-19 22:13 |
@Sandie: since a few years (when it got this 60ies-retro-design??) the Mustang is back on the German market, offered by several Ford-dealers, not only as private imports. O.k., I'm not sure, if the Mustang is listed in the official Ford Deutschland-range, but some Ford-dealers have them in their programme, even the smaller old-established dealer in my village. But maybe this is caused, because the owner has a special personal favour for it. |
