The only (major) vehicle from the movie... -- Last edit: 2006-01-17 21:06:42 |

Being a Caribbean setting and judging by the low profile of the bodywork, the windscreen, and a GM family resemblance, I'd guess it was a 1955-63 Bedford |

The filming location is Tailand not the Caribbean Islands so it makes the manufacturer a bit more uncertain but Bedford is still possible. Divided (two-piece) windshield and front wings faired back into the cab doors do not match either Bedford A-type or J1/J5/TJ types which were the main normal-control chassis styles made by Bedford in the 1950s and 1960s. Still searching for more clues or confirmation I think. -- Last edit: 2006-11-26 13:11:58 |

How about this? Link to "www.hankstruckpictures.com" ... described as an Austin Loadstar, but I'm not sure that's right ... |

Good thought chris40. Although it could be the later Morris-Commercial WE/Austin 3-Ton which used the same cab. I can see a few details that could match. A pity that the thumbnail picture does not look to be working. |

Austin 303 3-ton I believe - There is enough additional detail visible under the bonnet here (on the slightly later model with the one-piece windscreen)... http://ccmv.fotopic.net/p41414248.html -- Last edit: 2014-03-14 15:12:05 |

Similar bus shown here although filmed in Barbados and not Thailand /vehicle_699133-Austin-303-WE-1955.html |
