3873 is not a real Jelcz-Berliet, but a French Berliet PR100MI restored to look like one. http://www.przegubowiec.com/bus/katalog/kmkm/pr100.htm |

The main difference is that it hasn't the loud Berliet V800 engine, but some RVI product. Shame, but from about 850 Jelcz made PR100 only one has survived - an interesting 1970's prototype with electric engine, which is also in rather bad condition and actually is rusting, together with the last Warsaw's Chausson, somwhere at the background of the technical museum That's why "boys" had to built replica which is based on a bit newer vehicle, imported from France. According to "Przegubowiec" the same, restored bus was already used to shots for movie "Popiełuszko" set in the 1970's/80's, which will have its premiere in november. |

Ex Orléans SEMTAO (cédé à Cracovie). Double hommage: au pr100 "Jelcz" et au Père Popieluszko... |
