The plate (2BWC) is now on a Toyota Auris.... |

Has a chrome strip and paint line underneath. Hard to tell what wheels it has though (maybe pepperpot?). I wonder if that plate ever really belonged to this? |

I don't think it has vinyl roof so not a Vdp. July 81 brought in rear headrests and std headlamp wash wipe on both the Sovereign and the Double Six, which was renamed HE at that point until discontinued Oct 83. According to Glass's, in Sept 83 the Sovereign was renamed 4.2 and got side chrome strip for the first time, front fogs, spoked alloys and possibly stronger grille and rear plinth fluting, but then dropped in Nov 83 after about 320 revised models made. So this one could be a Sept-Nov 83 4.2 or a July 81 onwards HE (formerly Double Six); whichever the date can be advanced to 81. |

Still unknown, why don't we just leave it as Daimler? |

Because it's a failure. Entering as D6 as 4.2 option so limited. |

Nothing wrong with leaving it open to the possibility of it being either (because here I don't think we can tell) |

Wing badge, so Double Six. |
