I believe @Gamer said these were named differently in Mexico. ![]() |

Indeed they were. The word “Ram” does not appear to be mentioned in the brochure outside the Ramcharger until the 1994 generation. Trim names used in the US (Prospector, Adventurer) were used directly as model names in Mexico. To underline this, the American DODGE RAM tailgate was replaced with D O D G E in Mexico while the RAM badges on the American models were replaced with weight designations south of the border. This is a work truck as opposed to leisure rated, which in Mexico were rated by their weight, e.g. D-150. I will admit that I cannot 100% vouch for this info being correct for all years as I only found a Mexican 1991 brochure. Mexican Rams also had factory ram hood ornaments and DODGE lettering on the hood whereas on US trucks the lettering was on the grille with no hood badge: Link to "www.autominded.net" https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/AWsAAOSwMsZhLjww/s-l1600.jpg 91 US Ramcharger for comparison: Link to "www.edmunds.com" It looks like the Mexican ones got the American grille for 1992, seeing these are very new: /vehicle_658383-Dodge-Ramcharger-AW-1991.html /vehicle_658573-Dodge-Ramcharger-AW-1991.html /vehicle.php?id=331163 -- Last edit: 2023-08-05 23:36:44 |
