The plate is not genuine, unless the vehicle was registered as a private car, and not a commercial. It would suggest 1930, and the absence of longitudinal front springs suggests a Ford Model A, but this is mainly conjecture. -- Last edit: 2023-08-02 08:45:20 |

FWIW, batches of GK registrations either side of 'GK 6398' were used on Austin 12/4 Taxis by Mann & Overton. Its likely to be one of a fleet of vans, a genuine newspaper delivery van, operated by "United Service Transport Ltd". United Service Transport Ltd. of Balham, London..."went into motorised transport and hired out charabancs.
