We've identified this vehicle using the details you provided ROLLS ROYCE ROLLS ROYCE OTH OTHERS 1937 Registration number: ABE 504 Body type: Saloon Colour: Cream Date of first registration: October 1982 This is ABE 504 now. Comments online that this abomination is "Rolls Royce 1937 with drop down rear hood in cream with cream leather interior, latest ally cylinder head fitted with unleaded valves. Wedding car as used by the ROYAL MILITARY ACADEMY SANDHURST on many occasions" and that it may be a 25/30 (and not a Phantom III as someimes stated). |

I’m hoping not to need it yet! In fact, I think I preferred the hearse for looks, the wedding car seems a bit contrived, and the back door fit indicates that the body is suffering. -- Last edit: 2023-04-18 09:01:55 |

So what are we going to name him? Phantom III Hearse? 25/30 Hearse? Just "Hearse"? Or Gregory Peck?? Coachwork looks like Woodall Nicholson to me. |

The visual clues that I use in my attempts to identify pre WW2 Rolls-Royces are almost completely absent, and therefore I have made no comment about 25/30 or P3. |

I have the following from my good friend Mark Williams, owner of many R-Rs & Bentleys over time: ABE 504, Club records and those of the late Bernard King indicate it was a 25/30, off test 17 Sep 37 with chassis number GLP12, engine H23Z, body number 4353. First owner George Henry Bowser. Apparently painted white and beige. |
