Deck arch truss bridge. Better inspect those gusset plates, as were found in the 35W bridge disaster in my state. |

I remember that … I had family that was supposed to be traveling thru that area when it happened. I knew the chance of them being involved was remote at best, but that thought still crossed my mind. I was happy when they called me to let me know they had gotten home okay. I was worried about the kids in the school bus also (seen in the picture below) You don't happen to know if they all got out do you? -- Last edit: 2008-05-26 05:56:14 |

Yes, they all survived. They say ten of them had minor injuries, along with one youth worker. |

The driver of the baked goods tractor trailer was not so lucky. Twelve years earlier, a similar incident occured on an Interstate 90 bridge over the Grand River in Ohio, and the cause was the same. That bridge did not totally collapse, and the repairs were made quickly without informing other state agencies. http://www.startribune.com/local/18849829.html Link to "www.thetrucker.com" -- Last edit: 2008-05-26 22:26:26 |

Also, In 1963 Marmon-Herrington ceased truck production, Marmon Motor Co. of Denton, Texas, revived the Marmon brand to build and sell truck designs that Marmon-Herrington had been planning. So with that we can clearly tell this truck was made after 63' so it should be just Marmon 125PHR. |
