I believe this is a first version of a 'Plaxton Expressliner' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plaxton_Expressliner possibly on a Volvo B10M chassis.

It's a Paramount, not an Expressliner, because it has a back window.

Quote The original Expressliner was a Plaxton Paramount III 3500 to National Express specification, easily recognisable from the standard Paramount by having a windowless rear end incorporating the National Express logo.

As this is modern filming, it's likely to be a preserved example, probably living in or around Glasgow so might be traceable. No sign of a toilet in the interior view, so probably not a long-distance design.

Does this mean the 'Plaxton Expressliner' replaced the 'Plaxton Paramount III 3500' or did National Express order some of each?

Park of Hamilton ordered many Volvo/Plaxton coaches, in 1989, 1990, and 1991. The type numbers and descriptions do not include the words Paramount or Expressliner, but there were various seating capacities, and some were fitted with toilets, some not.

Without resource, (and time) to go through all the type numbers, which I do not have, my thoughts would be that the windowless bodies would be the ones with the toilets, and used on the National Express motorway routes.

The Expressliner, introduced in 1988, was a customised version of the Plaxton Paramount 3500 on the Volvo B10M chassis, which was leased to National Express contract operators.

Quote The most popular coach sold in the UK during 1988, was the Mk3 Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Volvo B10M. So it was decided that this would be the Expressliner, so National Express, Plaxton and Volvo joined forces. The Expressliner would be leased and not sold, a maintainance package would be part of the lease package, this would be based on a five year contract, at the end, the Expressliner would be refurbished before it was returned...
The Mk1 Expressliner was based on a Mk3 Plaxton Paramount 3500, with a number of unique features: all seats were trimmed in a grey moquette with the double N emblem. At the rear was a floor mounted toilet rather than sunken, a servery unit would be at the rear on the Rapide version. There was no back window, and no opening boot lid, where the back window would be, was a large double N emblem. The side locker doors were parallel lift. The entrance door, was a a swivel door, rather than a plug type door.

Since the Volvo B10M/Plaxton Paramount was the most popular new coach in the UK, National Express contractors probably already had plenty of them. We can see that the coach in the series is not an Expressliner because it has a back window (see the first and third thumbnails).
