Which would be fine if we could see it. It’s like searching, with closed eyes, for a black cat in a coal cellar. Even with my iPad at maximum brightness I can’t make out enough shapes to have any confidence. -- Last edit: 2022-12-18 14:57:59 |

From the movie, that's the best I could do. However, Maeda Auto does have a photo of the car in question ![]() ![]() |

Silver Wraith, for starters, possibly long wheelbase, off to the books to compare coachwork. |

The droopy shape of the rear side window suggests Hooper. |

If my RR picture book is watertight, agree Hooper. If swb, long front quarterlights were Teviot I or II, then shortened for III. Teviot I had rear hinged front doors, so could be Teviot II here, introduced for 1950, 12 made. If lwb, my book less helpful as no long quarterlight Hooper LWBs shown - they're all short quarterlight on front-hinged doors. But they seem to have a cleaner panel below the rear quarterlight above the arch curve than most of my swb pics, although one swb Teviot II has simpler design without indent. |

The only other faint possibility is F&W, but lack of swage lines on front wing say possibly not. Has to be early Teviot, the front wing stops before the front of the door shut line. I don’t think it’s a LWB either. -- Last edit: 2022-12-18 19:36:34 |

dsl remarks about rear hinged front doors. This car must have rear hinged front doors, the bulge at the bottom of the doors would prevent a front hinged door from opening. One of the few features that can be gleaned from the quite dark subject picture is a handle at the front of the door in the horizontal chrome strip under the window. -- Last edit: 2022-12-18 21:56:07 |

OK - agreed. There's a stray reflection towards rear of door which fooled me into thinking it was a handle. So we can go Teviot I, probably an early one (1946+) as no door locks which some (presumably later) Teviot Is had. And 1950 date claimed by owner looks dodgy. |
