1965 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. |

It could equally well be a "Calais" series hardtop coupe, style 68257. The script nameplate on the rear fender would provide the solution if it were visible. |

Calais would not have the V if I'm not mistaken. |

No, Chip, the "Calais" AND the "DeVille" models both had the "V" and crest. Check out this web page and compare the size of the script name on the IMCDB image with those of the 1965 "Calais" and "DeVille" catalog illustrations. I think "Calais" is the safer bet (90% sure). http://brochures.fleetwood75.net/ |

This is a Cadillac Coupe De Ville, very popular with the brother's back in the 60-70's. |

Why not a Calais? |

After the last HD thumbnail (rear view) I'm leaning towards Coupe DeVille [68357J]. The script at the rear looks enough long for it than the shorter 'Calais' |

The indicator that this car is a DeVille is that the chrome molding along the top of the door is wide, where on a Calais it would be narrow and barely visable. |

If a de ville 68357J, antp and vilero, it should be very similar to the car featured in the 'Mad Men' TV series (qv) and listed accordingly. (I'm merely a dsl lieutenant seeking to uncover the truth. With American cars, I can tell a Hudson from a Hupmobile, or even a Stanley from a Studebaker on a good day. Won't be a MrCadillac in 100 years). |
