Seems PBL 75 (chassis AN5 507) was one of 2 LHD press demonstrators (with green PBL 74) registered 2 months before launch and has body no.4 and engine no.3. Lots of press/publicity photo use at the time; unclear when it switched to RHD as these pictures (from Pathe film - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHre536AHrk ) and current state, but seems fairly early in 1958??

In the 1980s/1990s the Italian model firm of Exem produced a wide range of road and race/rally Frogeyes, including this dark green "Alexander" roadster with PBL 75 plates
[Image: dscf5770candc.jpg] [Image: dscf5771candc.jpg]
Alexander was a Buckinghamshire tuning garage who started souping up Morris Minors and then moved on to other BMC stuff, including Minis and Spridgets, the latter often with Sprinzel streamlined bonnets and hardtops. This roadster with tonneau cover, aeroscreen, side flash, bigger wheels and extra lights is therefore milder than some of their racers; the model also has red and dark blue versions, each of which can occur with several different plates. I can't find any trace of PBL 75 ever being Alexanderised or dark green as depicted, but can't exclude it having a brief phase like this. It's a nice model - fairly simple by today's standards, but charming and faithfully capturing an interesting and unusual variation.
