Apparently not.

Looks like one of the S3 Continental versions to me.

But the point is which one? I think I know, but, unlike some respondents, I try not to guess.

Nice try Supcoach, but no banana! I know what your incorrect originally guessed entry was. You appear to know nothing about Bentleys, so give it up.

I'm sorry John, but I'd like a try.

When I compare the four door S3 Continental with the one above, the anomalies are:
- the shape of the front wing molding which is missing on the one above.
- the shape of the overriders, which are smaller on the one above, and
- the shape of the windscreen, which is bigger, more panoramic, in shape, on the one above.

A wild guess; 1963 Bentley S3 Continental Coupé with coachwork by HJ Mulliner https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/24122/lot/265/ .
At least the window is sort of correct. Could the rest be the result of poor repair?

I hope we're still on friendly terms.

I think you may be on the right track, but would comment that anyone guilty of sponsoring a poor repair on a Bentley Continental is not quite right in the little grey cells.

I have also looked at that car, and the thing that has stopped any further comment from me is still the scarcity of information from, and poor quality of, the subject image.

More follows.

The James Young car shows small overriders, and twin headlights but not total congruence. The Flying Spur looks better from the design of the swage lines, but has large overriders.
Four doors or two?

The reason I dared to comment was that I found your black-and-white picture in the 1963 "International Auto-parade". It had the registration number BM 1963, but it wasn't a total match.

When looking at the thumb (that is the second picture provided by berto88fi) the windscreen look slightly bigger than the ones on both James Young and Mulliner Park Ward.

I've only found the bigger windscreen on the 2 door HJ Mulliner Continental Coupé, but you have a much bigger bank of knowledge to dig into.
The hope on my side is that also a blind hen might pick a seed...

I'm cautiously voting for S3 Continental HJ Mulliner 2-door saloon from my selection of picture book photos (which includes 461 EPW [BC40XA] as the illustrated example).

Some of my photo captions comment that most Continental S3s by JY or HJM used the legacy large over-riders, with small over-rider examples being unusual despite being the main format for S3 SSS outside US.

The 2-door HJM is the only example from my selection of pictures at least which matches what I think the A-pillar area shows in 2 respects (1) all 4 doors (JY and HJM) look like flatter windscreens with no curve round of lower corners. My solitary JY 2-door photo is an RR, but also has flatter windscreen. (2) All the 4 doors and the JY 2-door have triangular quarterlights with a gently pointed top; only the HJM 2-door has what looks like a D-shape quarterlight with a curved top.

I can't make out any useful difference in swage lines in my pics.

I don’t have any problem with that, if it’s a consensus of two then we can go with it. I’ve had a hard time trying to distil some sense out of the main image, possibly the thumb has helped with the windscreen shape. At least we are all three happy that it isn’t a Bentley Motors Standard Steel Saloon. I have about another 3 meters shelf length of books that I have not yet consulted including all the Bentley Drivers Club magazines back to 1964.
