Series I, 80". The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for 672 EFW are: Date of Liability 01 11 1983 Date of First Registration 01 07 1968 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1595CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour GREEN Vehicle Type Approval null The information contained on this page is correct at the time of enquiry. ... all of which suggests to me that it might be ex-WD. BTW that registration must date back to before 1965 ... -- Last edit: 2008-04-29 22:41:04 |

Wonderful, Steve, thanks a lot for these pictures! It is a Land-Rover 80" Series I from 1952/53. Very nice! And this proves: you just need an old Land-Rover to battle an alien invasion. |

Early sidelight position on bulkhead so would have been built as a 1600 cc. Wheels are bolt together two part wheels which strongly suggests military in origin. |

161 chassis numbers ran from August 50 to July 1951 there was a change in sidelight position from Bulkhead to the front wings, this occurred on chassis 16103898, which was towards the end of this number series so this Landy must be earlier than July 1951, by several months I suggest. |

Windscreen catches on bonnet are rearward facing not forward facing that occurred on chassis 16101483 the side lamp change happened on chassis 16103898. This landy must lie between those two chassis numbers so is definitely built between August 1950 and July 1951. -- Last edit: 2013-02-13 22:33:54 |

We can tie it down further, it has solid flat plate door top supports ( to windscreen pivots) not round rod wire supports, that change happened at chassis 16103311, so it is after then but before 16103898, which places it firmly into 1951. but no later. This is a 1951 Series one not a 1952 model. -- Last edit: 2013-02-13 22:34:32 |
