Is it a flower car maybe? These elaborate funeral coach builds you usually only see in japan. maybe an import?

:wow: I swear... No, swearing is frowned upon. OK, here I come again:

I'm pretty sure that one was made for the movie! French hearses of that time are... well, French, you know? And I don' think Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac is French enough in that respect. Looks like a Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 and an older van- or truck-based hearse from France had a baby. Referring to SeberHusky's comment: Japanese hearses, as well as various other Asian and some Neapolitan hearses, are often built that way with a 'temple' mounted to a car chassis (= combination of the old horse-drawn hearse styles with modern automobiles), but France also loved these over-the-top ceremonial style in earlier decades.

The concept of making one’s final journey in a towed, broken-down hearse is quite close to the towed, broken-down way in which some of us live.
