But I could find no record of that model, should it be 356? |

It's a 356 B Cabriolet. |

I'm the one who suggested this show and provided the pics. I don't believe it's a 356 B Cabriolet. In one of the episodes the character "Scarecrow" (aka "Lee Stetson"), played by actor Bruce Boxleitner, is talking about the car and calls it a 1963 Porsche 350 Convertible. So--I'm going by what the show and character stated. The Porsche was later destroyed in one of the episodes, and Scarecrow then acquired a Silver 1984 Chevrolet Corvette--which he used for the remainder of the show. This pic is from Season 1 Episode 7: "Service Above and Beyond." Boxleitner once stated that he was glad to get rid of the old Porsche because they could never keep it running long enough to hardly film a scene. He was overjoyed with the Corvette, though. Actually, there's no Porsche 350 Convertible. Believing that 1963 is its correct year, it should be a 356 B Cabriolet ( with a T6 body ). That's the official name of a 1963 open model and although in the US some models are locally sold as convertible, the US 356 Registry calls it 356 Cabriolet. The 356 B was introduced in 1960 ( with a T5 body ) and in 1962 it received the T6 body but was still called 356 B. Only in 1964 appeared the 356 C. |

This may be so...I was only going by what the show had stated. The car was a convertible, as in many episodes the top was down, so maybe it is the 356 B Cabriolet. They may not have known what exact model the car was when filming, and just guessed?? Who knows. From episode 1.07: -- Last edit: 2013-11-25 11:03:15 (walter) |

Replica, I don't know, but I just watched this fall in slow-mo on the DVD and whatever they pushed over the edge looked like a rusty shell, hastily painted to match. Still, credit to the production for not cutting to a wide shot, pushing a Beetle over the cliff, and hoping we wouldn't notice... |

It was a 356 B and the cliff was not staged. My dad restored the car and sold it to the studio and was heart broken when they wrecked it. |
