... who later became a Brussels dealer for Iso Rivolta and Abarth, and did strange things to MGBs and various other coachbuilds such as Volvo Amazon cabrios. |

There are errors in that MGB Coune write-up. MG already had their own project underway to create what became the B GT, working with Pininfarina; however they did have discussions with Coune, who hoped they might adopt his design, or if not at least supply him with roadsters to convert at a discount. MG took him seriously enough to commission a unique RHD example for evaluation (CBW 55B) but talks dried up. Despite Italian looks, the Coune Berlinette used front and rear screens from a Renault R8 and Simca 1000 rear lights. He eventually made 56 Berlinettes and a single Targa top B Gemini Spyder. Some other Coune creations. |

The event here might be GP de Sport on 13/may/56, as the car is still carrying original colors of dark blue and white. And yes, it is the same car we also see in this film after a repaint, with left side dagamed again. In later photos we can see bonnet corners modified with air reliefs and an add-on headrest installed with quick-fit finger screws. |
